II. HISTORY
Yahiko's father was a samurai who died when he was still very young. His mother got sick and because they were poor, the 2 of them borrowed money from the Yakuzas. Unfortunately, Yahiko's mother died, and he was forced by the Yakuzas to work as a pickpocket for them because of the money he now owed to them.
Yahiko met Kenshin and Kaoru when the 2 were on their way to the Akabeko restaurant. Yahiko tried to pickpocket Kenshin but Kaoru noticed this immediately. Kenshin, being kind-hearted, was willing to give Yahiko his money (^^; !!!). Before running away, Yahiko got angry and told Kenshin & Kaoru he wont get the offer because he does not accept any "charity".
At the Akabeko's, Kenshin and Kaoru learned about the reason Yahiko was a pickpocket. Of course, learning the harsh treatment the Yakuzas were giving to Yahiko, Kaoru went to their hideout to save Yahiko.
Kaoru was fighting well but at sometime she was about to loose when - SWOOSH! - Kenshin (of course) came out of nowhere & saved them.
Kaoru from then on decided to adopt Yahiko and train him as her new student. III. (Other Information) Obviously Yahiko's the youngest among the RK group. He gets angry when people call him "kid". He idolizes Kenshin (and the others too) and hopes to be as strong. He's a good fighter - in fact you'll see him fight & beat up guys WAY bigger than him! He treats Kaoru not as a teacher, but as a friend (oops! my mistake - should I say "enemy"?) He often calls her "ugly", and both of them always fight in SD form.

II. HISTORY
Well, Kaoru doesn't have much of a history. All I know is that her father died when she was still a very young girl. At that time when her father was still the teacher of Kamiya Kashin, the dojo still had many students, which includes a boastful student which will be the future reason why Kenshin and Kaoru meet in the first place - long story (I'll put the summary when I decide what section I'll put it on ^_^x).
Anyway when her father died, Dr. Gensai took care of her.
III. (Other Information) Of all the Kenshin-gumi, Kaoru's the only one who really works and makes a living. She's the present teacher of the Kamiya Kashin, with Yahiko Myojin only as her official student (at some parts another student comes in, named Yutaro). She promotes the principle of Kamiya Kashin which is to protect people. Anyway she may be good at fighting . . . but her cooking stinks (^^;). Sano says even a cat won't eat her cooking! (Wha? Is that that bad? Wonder how it tastes . . .)

II. HISTORY
Kenshin's parents died of cholera when he was still a little boy. His real name was Shinta by then. One day he met three female slave traders: Akane, Kasumi and Nabuki (sounds familiar?). At that night the 4 of them got caught on a robbery. The bandits started killing the people when Akane and the other 2 girls saved little Shinta, only to the cause of their lives. The bandits was about to slash Shinta when Hiko appeared out of nowhere and killed them.
After a few days, Shinta finished digging graves for all the people who died in the robbery, including the bandits. Surprised at what he did, Hiko decided to adopt him and train him on sword fighting. Realizing "Shinta" is not a fit name for a future samurai, Hiko changed the boy's name to "Kenshin". (Shinta's a name for a girl!!!)
Anyway without completing his training, Kenshin left Hiko when he was about 14 years old to become a slasher and a member of the Ishin Shishi. As a killer, he bacome known as the cold-hearted "Hitokiri Battousai" cause he draws a battou jutsu very fast!
At 15 he met Tomoe, a girl of 18 years old. The 2 fell-in-love for each other (!), but after a duel w/ her deceased fiancee's brother, Kenshin accidentally killed Tomoe. Here also in this duel Kenshin finally got his huge X-mark. After that incident, Kenshin realized killing was wrong and vowed to begin a life of a rurouni ("wanderer") instead.
At the Shishio arc (about 19 years since Hiko adopted Kenshin), Kenshin went back to Hiko to learn of what's left on his training. (Hiko looks exactly the same even after 19 years - even the clothes!) There he learned the Kuzu Ryu Sen, and the succession technique of Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu, Ama Kakeru Ryu no Hirameki (phew - a very long phrase . . .) III. (BLAH)
Obviously, Kenshin's the star of this anime. He was patterned after a real man in Japan's history, Gensai Kawakami.
Basically, Kenshin's just a normal guy around the block. He does the laundry (*sweatdrop*), cooks food, and plays with the kids. He lets Kaoru-dono beat the hell out of him, and often he's on SD form. He's the only one who doesn't complain on Kaoru-dono's cooking ^_^.
BUT if Kenshin becomes serious or "Battousai" - pigs beware! He fights with his sword very good! Even his eyes turn yellow! (So here's a helpful tip: wear yellow contact lenses when you're really angry! - hehe . . .) Anyway don't be scared at the zoo 'cause this dragon stopped killing a long time ago. He protects those he loves using a sakabatou, a sword that does not kill an opponent, only knocks him/her down (*sweatdrop*).

II. HISTORY
Sanosuke was a part of the Sekiho troop when he was still a little boy. He greatly idolized the groups' leader, Sagara (see picture on the left - the man behind Kenshin!). One day, while the Sekiho was on a forest, the Ishin Shishi (which were their allies) suddenly charged out of nowhere and started to massacre them. Sano, along with Sagara ran until beside a river, the slashers finally caught up with them. They started firing when Sagara pushed Sano into the river to save him (Sano) from the bullets. Sano was saved 'cause the current carried him away. Unfortunately and obviously, Sagara was killed.
After a few days (I think), Sano saw Sagara's head displayed on the public. The government said that anyone who betrays them would have the same fate as Sagara's. Of course, Sano got angry and developed a feeling of hatred for the Ishin Shishi. From then on he took the name of Sagara as his own last name and kinda planned to take revengre for the fallen Sekiho troop (only 2 members survived - Sano and his friend, Katsu, which would appear in some parts of the story).
After a few years, Sano saw Kenshin-gumi ("Kenshin's group") at the Akabeko restaurant (the one owned by Tae). Of course Sano planned on defeating Kenshin cause he (Himura) was a former member of the Ishin Shishi. Sano faught Kenshin using his BIG sword, Zanbatou. Himura won (he broke Sano's BIG sword!!!!) and Sano realized that his plan for revenge was wrong and would come to nothing.
After that Sano became Kenshin's friend and would always hang out at the Kamiya dojo. III. (BLAH) Sano belongs to the comedy-relief group of RK. He does a lot of silly things when the scene's not serious - together with Yahiko, they would fight over food or team up to tease Kaoru. He's called "chicken-headed" because of his weird hairstyle (it would take a LOT of gel to do that!) and sometimes "empty brain".
